However, since this is a simulation, you can give your passengers an experience they&apos;d never be able to have otherwise! Descend into the canyon, and follow the Colorado River for a while. Once you think you have given them the complete tour, return to Grand Canyon National Park airport (KGCN).<\/p>\n

From the airport, fly the 13 nautical miles to the point where the canyon turns west from its southern course.<\/p>\n

WP1(POI1) to WP2(POI2)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Distance: 11.97NM Bearing: 56\u00b0 6 minutes<\/strong><\/p>\n

Stay along the rim and follow the canyon for this initial part of the journey.<\/p>\n

WP2(POI2) to WP3(POI3)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Distance: 3.78NM Bearing: 264\u00b0 2 minutes<\/strong><\/p>\n

As the canyon turns northwest, dip into the canyon and skim the Colorado.<\/p>\n

WP3(POI3) to WP4(POI4)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Distance: 5.82NM Bearing: 292\u00b0 3 minutes<\/strong><\/p>\n

Keep close to the river and you will pass over South Kaibab Trail. There is a Helipad by the water. It is a nice place to stop if you want to dip your toes.<\/p>\n

WP4(POI4) to WP5(POI5)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Distance: 2.13NM Bearing: 253\u00b0 1 minutes<\/strong><\/p>\n

For this part of the journey, climb back up to the rim of the canyon.<\/p>\n

WP5(POI5) to WP6(POI6)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Distance: 1.02NM Bearing: 290\u00b0 0 minutes<\/strong><\/p>\n

Descend back to the floor of the canyon. Follow it until you see an island in the middle of the river. Landing here will place you right on waypoint 6.<\/p>\n

WP6(POI6) to WP7(POI7)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Distance: 1.96NM Bearing: 246\u00b0 1 minutes<\/strong><\/p>\n

Continue to follow the canyon west. It will begin to turn northwest. This is the first turn north on this part of the river and your next waypoint.<\/p>\n

WP7(POI7) to WP8(POI8)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Distance: 1.6NM Bearing: 272\u00b0 1 minutes<\/strong><\/p>\n

Continue down the river.<\/p>\n

WP8(POI8) to WP9(POI9)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Distance: 1.99NM Bearing: 322\u00b0 1 minutes<\/strong><\/p>\n

As the river begins to run northwest, climb to the rim again and you will get a fantastic view of Scylla Butte on your left and Charybdis Butte on your right. As the river turns 90 degrees to the left, you have reached waypoint 9.<\/p>\n

WP9(POI9) to WP10(POI10)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Distance: 1.47NM Bearing: 293\u00b0 1 minutes<\/strong><\/p>\n

Fly westbound at this point and continue to fly west as the river turns north again. This is your exit point. Gain some altitude and once you are 1 nautical mile west of the river, you can turn back to the airport.<\/p>\n

WP10(POI10) to WP11(POI11)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Distance: 3.01NM Bearing: 258\u00b0 1 minutes<\/strong><\/p>\n

Fly the 14 NM back to the airport.<\/p>\n

WP11(POI11) to Grand Canyon National Park(KGCN)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Distance: 14.42NM Bearing: 133\u00b0 7 minutes<\/strong><\/p>\n

As you approach the airport, expect to fly at 1500 feet AGL over the center of the airport and make left traffic for runway 21. Land on the runway to complete the tour.<\/p>\n
