As a pilot for Kenmore Air, you spend your summers flying tourists between Seattle, the San Juan Islands, and destinations in British Columbia. This morning's flight is a regularly scheduled trip from Kenmore's main base (in Kenmore at the north end of Lake Washington) to Lake Union (in Seattle), and then up Puget Sound to Friday Harbor (on San Juan island). 

Take off and fly south down Lake Washington. When you see a canal running from the lake west to Puget Sound, follow it. The canal leads to Lake Union, which is just north of downtown Seattle. Land and taxi up to the Kenmore Air dock in the southwest corner of the Lake.

Kenmore Air Harbor Inc Seaplane Base(S60) to WP1(POI1)

Distance: 1.2NM Bearing: 208° 1 minutes

Takeoff from S60 and proceed towards Seattle. Check-in with base to make sure the plan is still to go to Friday Harbor.

WP1(POI1) to WP2(POI2)

Distance: 3.49NM Bearing: 189° 2 minutes

Report arrival, Lake Union.

WP2(POI2) to WP3(POI3)

Distance: 0.66NM Bearing: 186° 0 minutes

Land and taxi up to the Kenmore Air dock in the southwest corner of the Lake.

WP3(POI3) to WP4(POI4)

Distance: 0.54NM Bearing: 181° 0 minutes

Pick-up your passenger and take them to the assigned destination.

WP4(POI4) to WP5(POI5)

Distance: 0.84NM Bearing: 341° 0 minutes

Depart Lake Union and follow the ship canal west towards the Olympic mountains.

WP5(POI5) to WP6(POI6)

Distance: 22.58NM Bearing: 258° 11 minutes

When you get close to the mountains, you’ll see Hood Canal running from north to south at the base of the hills. Follow it south for about 25 miles.

WP6(POI6) to WP7(POI7)

Distance: 20.81NM Bearing: 194° 10 minutes

When the canal eventually curves east, look to the west and you’ll see Lake Cushman nestled in the foothills. Turn west and fly there.

WP7(POI7) to WP8(POI8)

Distance: 9.12NM Bearing: 312° 4 minutes

Report Arrival – Lake Cushman.

WP8(POI8) to WP9(POI9)

Distance: 1.97NM Bearing: 267° 1 minutes

Drop your passenger off on the dock located at the far west end of the lake.

WP9(POI9) to Friday Harbor(W33)

Distance: 63.5NM Bearing: 356° 30 minutes

The Kenmore Air dock is located in the harbor, 1 mile northeast of the Friday Harbor Airport (KFHR).
